This is "Pissed Off", Don Montgomery's 1969 Plymouth Valiant. The name came from talking on the phone one day with Don discussing the project when we had first mocked the car up and set it down on over its wheels. After seeing the pictures I told Don that is looked like it was pissed off sitting there. He laughed and said that needs to be the name of the car. So we went ahead and badged the car with that.
The paint and most all the body work you see is as Mother Nature rendered it from nearly 40 years in the desert sun. We added subtle and functional mods throughout like turning the front bumper into a fresh air intake and air splitter and cueing the natural rust tones for the color of the bumpers, trim and wheels.
The car is equipped with an Art Morrison Chassis that is welded into the body and ties in with a roll cage. It has Ride Tech coil overs and Currie third member in a Ford 9” rear end. The engine is a 6.4
liter crate Hemi that we machined an intake for so we could run the Borla eight stack on it. The combination is controlled with a Holley Dominator and custom harness and is followed up by a Bowler 6 speed Tremec transmission.
The brakes are Baer 6P 14” rotors and the wheels are one off machined three piece knock offs while M and M interiors handled the custom brown leather work in the car.
Vintage Air AC and Classic Instruments keep Don cool and clued in when he's behind the wheel.
